“Envisioning Our World through Archetypal Images”
Seeing Visions; Orr St. Studios; March 6, 7:00 p.m.

Gennie Pfannenstiel, born on the prairie, where the sky touches the earth as far as the eye can see, orchestrated patterns as she sat in the furrowed fields during planting season. Drawing abstract configurations, she trailed her stick, discovering an unknown place, within the consciousness of knowing.  In this environment of vast space, Gennie began to create images that led her to inquire about her inner world, in relationship to the outer world.
As an educator for the past several decades, Gennie has shared her life experiences through words and images.  Completing a doctorate in 1993 at the University of Missouri—Columbia, with emphasis on reading and art, Gennie researched the role of inner imagery and inner voice.  Currently, “Dr. Gennie” is an elementary art teacher for the Columbia Public Schools.  She believes in collective projects that unify individual psyches within an archetypal image, to experience the alchemy that transforms the reality of our world.
Pfannenstiel’s multi-media, retrospective collection, at Orr St. Studios, chronicles words/images from the news, casting a background for her inner work.  “The psyche consists essentially of images.” (Carl Jung).  A timely show, as viewers reflect and create a collective envisioning at True/False, http://truefalse.org/ embodying layers of words and images, Pray Tell of Things to Come!

Thank you readers for illuminating my internal perspective!  Gennie
